Thirteen years ago on this day, the music-world lost a great, young talent. Singer, actress, dancer and model Aaliyah Haughton rose to fame through her work with producers and artists, R. Kelly, Timbaland, and Missy Elliot. She quickly became one of the best-selling R&B artists in music history. Despite her untimely death, Aaliyah’s legacy lives on. She has been credited as an influence to artists such as Beyonce, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Rita Ora, Keyshia Cole, and many more. We can only imagine what the music would be like with her today- she was always doing something new and creative!
